7th period Discussion Questions

7th period: post your questions and answers here. Remember to sign your name so everyone knows who you are. I will post an example question below, and if you would like to write a reply to mine or anyone else's, here is an example of the difference:

    I dont understand why Pete never said one word of apology at all to the point where it will never get better between them.

    I wonder what Pete wa thinking after what he saw as his brother changed and knowing that Richard hates him now. Now he has to live with that. If I was in Pete's shoe i would do anything to get my brother back. -Tiger Do

    I think he put up with it because he loves Pete. Its very hard to be mad or standoffish to someone you love. The only reason he hasn't killed by the end of the book is because he loves him

    I agree with Tiger & Mariah. My sister & I fight CONSTANTLY, but I could never live with her hating me forever. It doesn't matter who started it, if you're cruel enough to talk to someone as if they were a piece of poop, you should obviously just man up & apologize, no matter what.

    I think pete is either dumb for not recognizing the fact that Maybelle hates him or he is to love crazy to see it. in my opinion he is a little bit of both

    was Pete really that bad? Sucker can hold a grudge for months apparently I would have already forgotten it especially if he was my older brother. my sisters would forgive me if i didnt get them some applejuice quick enough

    Hey Guys- We've got some great discussions happening here! Haden-Unfortunatley, this is not a portion of a larger book, it's just a short story...but good question. As for the rest of you, I like that the conversation went from the book and slowly transformed into talking about your own lives. You all are doing a great job of putting yourself in other people's shoes! Your online talks about the literature show me you have a real grasp on the story. Good Job: A+

    Thats was sad when Pete said that mean stuff to Sucker!! I would have been mad at him tooo. But I would'nt be able to stay mad forever like Sucker was.

    I just dont understand why Pete didnt apoligize to Sucker for the things he said! I mean I argue with my sister sometimes but we always end up apoligizing to each other. Im not sure i could go on in Pete's shoes knowing that my own family hates me! I would have to apoligize at some point...

    I think it may be past the point of forgiveness. Sucker looked like he was going to kill him. He waited to long, and now that I think about it he must not of really loved Sucker at all or he would have said sorry at least when he realized they coudn't carry on a normal conversation. Not being able to do that would bother me.
